CHALLENGE
After years of rapid transformation in the music industry, Spotify wanted to find a way to better support an important community in their ecosystem: up-and-coming musicians.
SOLUTION
Give musicians access to industry expertise and resources to help advance their careers beyond the world of streaming.
Imprint Project created Spotify Co.Lab, an event series and content platform for musicians to workshop their careers with industry experts and connect with their peers.
Each event brings a select group of working artists together around a single theme. With panels and workshops led by industry experts plus one-to-one expert guidance sessions, Co.Lab events give working musicians unprecedented access to the people and information they need to support their music careers.
To promote the program, we also designed and built Co.lab.events, a digital hub for program information and event registration. A targeted application process aimed to bring together the right mix of guests: active musicians hungry for support who showed great potential to grow.
To share industry resources beyond the events we turned elements of the experience into content franchises: we launched a special zine with each event, produced an elevated photo booth experience that gave artists high-quality headshots, and produced a range of video content for Spotify social channels.
“I think the outreach Spotify is doing is fantastic to help build a community through the platform.”
