Imprint Projects collaborated with Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans (YACHT) to create a new year’s gift for friends and family. The candle’s burn time (24 hours) serves as an analogue for the history of life on Earth. A timeline is revealed as the candle burns: Earth’s formation, followed by the introduction of oceans and bacteria, then a long dark period before sharks and bees appear. Finally, the internet is invented just as the candle burns out.
