Imprint Projects concepted and executed two public events to celebrate the opening of the Sister Corita exhibition in conjunction with the Vancouver Contemporary Art Gallery’s 40th anniversary. The program was a novel departure from their standard openings and set a new course for the institution, which had recommitted itself to community engagement and an expanded exhibition program. The program included an invite-only preview event in the gallery, a screen printing workshop, a family day and public craft program, and a neighborhood parade. Families were invited to create decorations, masks, hand “picket“ signs, and screen print t-shirts and totes.
To create means to relate.
