Imprint Projects developed Cinema Magic for Dolby Gallery, an exhibition dedicated to cinematic experiences, the history of sound in cinema, and Dolby’s film legacy.
Dolby Gallery commissioned work by artist Sophie Clements. Her three-part video piece, Attempting to Delay the Inevitable, transforms smoke, mirrors, and water into cinematic sculptures using “bullet time” motion effects. A 360-degree camera rig captures the action of an explosion, a crash, and a spill from all angles, splicing these single moments into multiple frames. The result is a digital film strip that wraps around its own environment. The ambient soundscape is mixed for Dolby Atmos, surround sound technology that places viewers in the center of the magic.
